    The following Policies/Procedures are detailed within this briefing:

  • Line Managers shall brief their team as soon as possible on the relevant information contained within these documents, as required.

    Once briefed, all individuals shall then record read & understood receipt through the internal briefing process.


    This procedure has been included into the ECS Integrated Management System.

    The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that all ECS rail employees and third parties use appropriate PPE whilst working on ECS rail sites.

    This procedure defines the minimum requirements for all ECS rail sites.

    The minimum required PPE is:

  • Approved safety footwear (with steel toecaps, midsole protection and ankle support)
  • Cut resistant (Cut level C or Cut level 5) gloves
  • Hard hat
  • Light eye protection
  • Upper/lower high visibility clothing (for distribution personnel – arc flash PPE).
  • The procedure details the level of protection that is required, as well as additional requirements.
