PPE REQUIREMENTS FOR SITE DELIVERIES:
- Should a delivery driver need to access a working site and will egress their vehicle then they must wear full PPE.
- If meeting is at a designated drop off point, then the driver will need hi-vis on torso, hard hat, safety boots, gloves and glasses.
PLANT FITTERS
- Plant Fitters must report to the relevant Site contact before any work is undertaken:
- This will allow us to know they are on site before any work is undertaken.
- Ensure the Fitters are not working unsupervised.
- And ensure the work is being progressed / carried out.
THE SITE TEAM MUST:
- Ensure the Fitter is wearing the correct level of Personnel Protective Equipment.
- Whilst the Fitter is on site, the relevant Plant Operative remains with the item of Plant to ensure the fitter is not Lone Working, that the Fitter carries out their work safely and the Operator is available to assist the Fitter the item of Plant requires moving.
- And if possible, isolate the item of Plant from the main works to establish a safety zone, or move it to a safe area.
Note to Site regarding Delivery Vehicles
Further to the note above, Colas Rail (Urban) must extend control measures to all 3rd Party Vehicle Drivers, which attend our works, This is to include and not limited to:
- 1. Water / Waste services
- 2. Skip Wagons
- 3. Muck–A Way Wagons
- 4. Materials Delivery Vehicles
- 5. Materials Testers
- 6. Welfare and Ancillary Provider Personnel.
Drivers must be escorted on and off site or be controlled by a series of Vehicle Marshalls where distance needs to be travelled, and the relevant Control Measures included in our SSRAMS.
All the above should be briefed on our procedure by the relevant Gate Man when entering Site and display a Green Thumbs up in their window screen.
